Day 2 of Disney was spent at Epcot, and although many people say Epcot isn’t a great place to spend a day with kids, we always have the absolute best time.

There are a few fun rides, but it’s the food and atmosphere that we love the most.

Once we realized there wasn’t a chance we were getting on Elsa and Anna’s Frozen Ever After ride, we made our way back to the race car track. Although it broke down and our wait ended up being much longer than expected, it was super fun once we finally got on.

Word to the wise: there’s a ride where you can choose to explore Mars or Earth. Naturally, we decided to explore Mars because they said it was the more intense option.

Intense doesn’t even begin to cover it.

It actually feels like you’re being launched into space, and the pressure your body feels is a lot. I almost threw up, my husband almost blacked out, and my son is now terrified of space rides because he’s convinced he’s going to leave the planet.

So… explore at your own risk.

I really wish they gave a better description than simply “intense,” because that doesn’t prepare you in the slightest. Consider this your warning.

We also started our journey around the World Showcase by visiting the different country pavilions and, of course, snacking our way around the world. Instead of sitting down for big meals, we grabbed lots of smaller snacks so we could try as many different foods as possible.

We started in Canada with the beef tips, which were absolutely delicious. Then we headed to England for fish and chips, which we ate beside the water. They were honestly some of the best fish and chips we’ve had yet.

Afterwards, we wandered into France, where we picked up some incredible pastries from the boulangerie. I also somehow managed to leave with a Remy apron, my new favourite Mickey T-shirt, and a Boulangerie travel mug.

I will never financially recover from it… but it was worth every penny.

Continuing our journey, Mama and Daddy enjoyed a few beverages from around the world: sangria from Morocco, a Bellini from Italy, and Daddy found himself a delicious German beer served in a fun souvenir mug. We also grabbed pizza in Italy, and let me tell you, those slices were massive. We ordered four pieces for the four of us and easily could have shared three.

One thing we didn’t realize before arriving was that the end of May is when Epcot hosts the International Flower & Garden Festival. There were breathtaking flowers everywhere, along with beautiful floral sculptures of Disney characters. It honestly felt like we were walking through an enchanted garden all day long.

Speaking of enchanted gardens…

You absolutely have to check out Moana’s Journey of Water. It was so much fun with the kids and a perfect way to cool down after walking around in the Florida heat.

Right beside it is the Finding Nemo area, complete with a fun ride featuring Crush and an incredible aquarium that the kids absolutely loved exploring.

There’s also a beautiful restaurant overlooking the aquarium, which we ate at on a previous trip. Fair warning though… if you’re ordering seafood while watching fish happily swim by the windows, it creates a bit of an internal moral dilemma. The food was delicious, but I definitely struggled to swallow while staring at everyone’s underwater relatives.

One of the absolute highlights of the evening was the fireworks.

We watched from near the Canada Pavilion and managed to grab a fantastic spot. It’s standing room only during the show, but honestly, we didn’t mind at all. The show was incredible, and dare I say…

I actually liked these fireworks even more than the ones at Magic Kingdom.

After the fireworks, we fully expected complete chaos trying to leave the park. Instead, we took our time, stopped at the washroom, and casually made our way to the car. Surprisingly, getting out of the parking lot wasn’t bad at all, and it ended up being a really calm way to end an amazing day.

Although many people think Epcot is strictly for adults, there is honestly so much to see and do for the entire family. Between the rides, incredible food, beautiful gardens, and simply wandering from country to country, it’s a park that encourages you to slow down and enjoy the experience rather than rush from ride to ride.

Every time we visit Disney, Epcot finds a way to surprise us with something new. And somehow, it always leaves us counting down the days until we can wander around the world all over again.

1. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure (France) – Hands down our favourite.
2. Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros (Mexico) – Think It’s a Small World with a fun Latin twist.
3. The Seas with Nemo & Friends – A cute ride that leads directly into the incredible aquarium.
